Habibe Husain came to the United States for a year in 1962 as a high school foreign exchange student from Turkey. She came back to attend college in 1964 where she got her degree in Pharmacy from Temple University in Philadelphia and also met her husband of over 40 years. She married and chose to become a full-time mother upon the birth of her twins. She moved to the Bay Area with her family in 1973 and became a community volunteer worker. Habibe Husain has made many contributions to the Bay Area community, the most valuable of which has been in the service to the poor and needy through the establishment of Rahima Charitable Foundation.
For the past 18 years, hundreds of refugee families from Bosnia, Somalia, Afghanistan and other countries have benefited from this organization. She is a pillar of the community, a person of great integrity and inner strength. Her scrupulousness in spending public funds and the dignity with which she treats every individual are the hallmarks of her character. Habibe Husain is the mother of 3 grown children and grandmother of 4 lovely grandkids.
Chairman, Board of Directors
Born in India, Pasha Quadri spent his educational career in India. He graduated with a Bachelors in Electronics and Communication and Engineering from National Institute of Technology. He also has a Masters in Electronics from Monmouth University, New Jersey. He has been involved in helping and developing Rahima for over 10 years and has helped forge strong relationships with the Cisco Foundation and Second Harvest Food Bank. In the coming years, his goal is to solidify the youth service program which is central to Rahima Foundation's long term success
Shamim Pirzada was born in Pakistan and is currently a resident of Silicon Valley and is employed in Cisco Systems. He has a doctorate in engineering and married with 3 children. As a long term volunteer of Rahima Foundation, brother Shamim is involved in strategy and direction of new progams that Rahima Foundation is looking to roll out.
Rabea Chaudhry, Board Member
Rabea Chaudhry lives in the Bay Area, California with her husband and daughter. She is an attorney, artist and writer. She graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a degree in Comparative Literature and holds a JD from the UCLA School of Law with a Critical Race Studies Specialization. Her law practice focuses on estate planning, entity formation and asset protection. Her artwork has been displayed in venues across the United States and her writings have appeared in the UCLA Journal of Islamic and Near Eastern Law and I Speak for Myself.
She is involved in Rahima’s development and planned giving programs.
